How did April Fool's Day begin?

 April Fool's Day

There are different
theories about the origin of April Fool's Day. It is known that April Fool's Day
started in 1582. From April 1, France and Georgia began the process of create a
new calendar to replace the year-old calendar. According to this new calendar,
January 1 is designated as the first day of the year. But till then March 25
was considered as the first day of the year instead of January 1. This new
Georgian calendar is launched at the end of March. So according to the
calculation, the new calendar starts from April 1. Even after the introduction
of this calendar, those who followed the previous rules were called 'fools' at
that time. It is believed to be the beginning of 'April Fool's Day'.

Not only this. Even
before this, the word 'flower' has been found in history. In medieval France,
Feast of Fools was celebrated on 1st January. In this event, a fake pope was
elected in imitation of the Christian tradition. The high and low officials of
the church used to change their jobs. But later the existence of this event is
no longer traceable. So instead of this custom, another program called 'All
Fools Day' started on this day. In France the event was called Poisson d'Avril,
meaning April Fish. Friends used to have fun sticking paper fish behind their
backs.

Again in Scotland
this event is called Gokey Day. Another name of cuckoo is Goki. Which is a
symbol of stupidity. Here on April 2, everyone has fun by sticking a paper with
the word "Kick Me" on the back of their friends. In Brazil, April 1
is celebrated as Día da Mentria or Lie Day. Everyone makes fools of their loved
ones on this day.
